Help us fund our short film, The Grey Matter
We’re happy to announce the start of pre-production on our short film called THE GREY MATTER. Luke is going to shoot it, I wrote it (it’s been extracted from our feature film script) and we’re both going to direct it. We’re very excited to be working on an original project again, but we need your help!
Filmmaking is unfortunately not cheap. We’re pulling crazy favors through all our friends in the biz, but we are hoping to raise some money on top of the money Luke and I are putting in out of our own pockets.
We started an IndieGoGo page for the film, it’s basically Kickstarter but specifically for films. Check it out and help us out if you can anything helps- and don’t forget that donating to the arts is a tax write off!!!

In the dead of night, Simon Peterson wakes up in an alleyway drenched in blood. He can’t recall how he got there or what happened to him, but oddly enough, he doesn’t seem to be in any pain. However, not all appears to be well with Simon. In the aftermath of this mysteriously gruesome incident, Simon manages to attract the attention of his beautiful and highly coveted coworker, Emily. Suddenly, Simon’s previously mundane existence has a fresh and exciting purpose …but something is still rotting within him. Now, with the help of a sage mentoring maggot, acting as his foul mouthed Jiminey Cricket with an unknown agenda, Simon comedically stumbles through an absurd and macabre version of an office romance.

We just got back from a wonderful shoot for Listerine in South Africa. It was our first time shooting in Cape Town and we had an incredible experience. I highly recommend checking the place out, if you haven’t already. Cape Town has everything - the epic Table Mountain smack dab in the middle of the city, beautiful shark filled coast line, amazing wineries, awesome culinary scene, there are even hipsters there. We shot for 6 days and stayed in Cape Town for just under 3 weeks and we even snuck in a little Safari in Timbavati when the job wrapped. It was dope.
Now we are back in NYC, writing on a few commercials while trying to crank out a short version of our feature film “The Grey Matter”. Hopefully that will be done soon and you’ll be able to watch it here!
P.S. here’s that Amex spot we were shooting in the last post. Apparently it aired during the 2012 Academy Awards (which we missed cuz we wuz in Africa).

Happy Holidays Nerds!
We’re back in Brooklyn after back to back shoots for NFL, American Express, and Apple that had us traveling all over the continental U.S. Last week we found out we lost out on a pretty big job for early January that was traveling to some pretty exotic locales… I know, I know, bummer right?… but save your tears because yesterday we booked a commercial shooting in South Africa in February 2012. So now we can relax a bit and properly celebrate the holidays Brooklyn style!
2011 ended up being a pretty great year for us. Lots of good work came through our door, I (Pete) got married to the hottest coolest girl on the planet, we had some down time to relax and enjoy many bike rides to Rockaway beach in the summer, and then packed our fall and winter with tons of good travel and work.
Let’s hope 2012 is just as fruitful and rewarding. Luke and I are hopefully going to get a feature film off the ground next year, fingers crossed. We look forward to having new experiences, adventures, and making some new friends in 2012.
Happy New Year!

Thursday Night Football Game #1 Open
We finally finished our 16 city (17 if you count a 2nd trip to Oakland to shoot Carson Palmer) tour over the last six weeks. We wrapped on Friday in Hotlanta with the Falcons. The first two games have already aired and here’s the first one’s open. I actually like week two’s cut better (Jets/Broncos) so I’m gonna track that down online and post it!
Now we’re off to do an Amex job in D.C.

Too much coffee today
Been writing treatments the past two days. After having a good portion of the summer off, it’s back to work time. Although in the interim my brain forgot how to work and I am struggling with turning it back on. Luke is in Germany filling in on a feature film, so I’m stuck here in BK slamming away on my Macbook. To top it off today is a really nice day. My bike is staring at me from the foyer, asking me to just give her a quick spin around the block. Must - type - words. Okay, back to work. We leave for a shoot in Kansas tomorrow and won’t be back until September 1st. The end of summer is always a sad time. Even though I really enjoy the fall. It’s something that has resonated with me ever since school days. Okay, enough mindless rambling. Time to work. We were interview by a new blog about music and the moving image last week called syncroness.com so that should be out soonish. Besides that - nothing to report. I’ll hit you up when there’s more fun stuff to see.

This was the awesome project I was talking about.
Hey all, So my good friend and often producer Samantha Storr happens to be good friends with Adam Yauch - MCA of the Beastie Boys if you’ve been living under a rock. She has produced a good portion of their music videos over the past several years and was working on a follow up video to their first star studded single from Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 - “Make Some Noise”.
She called me a day before the Brooklyn shoot and said that their was a problem and Adam (MCA) unfortunately wasn’t going to be able to make it to the shoot. She had just gotten out of a meeting with Spike Jonze and he was going to be able to come in and direct the video last minute, but they had a ton to shoot in three days and wanted to know if I could direct 2nd unit. She said she unfortunately couldn’t pay me - to which I immediately dropped everything I was doing and replied - “When do you need me?”
Needless to say, I am a huge fan of both the Beastie Boys and Spike’s and it was really a dream come true. I mean - I pretty much have modeled my career after Spike’s and there was surely nothing more important to me in the early 90s than skateboarding and the Beastie Boys. Spike ended up being a super cool down to earth guy and we ended up collaborating on a bunch of scenes and shots - it was totally rad. I really think the video came out great, it fits so well into the B-Boys legacy, and I can’t wait for people to see it.
The video should be out in the next few weeks and I’ll post a link to it when it’s online.
Cheers - Pete

Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win….
Coming your way this July. Both short and epic length videos for the song we made with Santigold.
The video was directed by our esteemed colleague Mr. Spike Jonze. It is an explicit action adventure spectacular. It features action figures of us….and yes, they are ACTION figures, NOT dolls!
